LRBP arranged its steering committee 1st meeting on 10th August 2011. The meeting was chaired by the secretary Ministry of Local Development (MOLD) Mr. Sushil Ghimire. There were about 25 participants including DG, DDG DoLIDAR and different donor representatives.
Yearly plan of operation (YPO), bridge selection criteria and program status as of today were presented from project side. Some fruitful suggestions were given by the participants. The YPO was approved.
It was decided by the meeting to take the proposed bridge selection criteria for wider consultation among LDOs, DTOs, donors and other stakeholders before finalizing it. The tentative date for approval of selection criteria is January 2012.
The selection criteria ware considered to become very useful in order to prevent political interference for selecting bridge projects
